ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL DRESS CODE

 The following uniform is in effect from the first day of school:

 Please see display of uniforms located in the main hallway and refer to the catalog for specific uniform requirements.

 Girls 

1. Selected uniform on display. 

Elementary School:  K- 5^th graders wear jumpers.  Jumpers must be no shorter than 2” (two inches) above the knee. 

Middle School:  6^th –8^th graders wear skirts.  Skirts must be no shorter than 2’ (two inches) above the knee.

2. No slacks allowed.
3. White dress shirts or long sleeve blouses- no turtlenecks, no knit fabrics, no polo shirts, no trimming (i.e., lace) around the collar/cuffs.
4. Navy blue or black socks/tights.  No stockings.
5.   Ties should be worn daily.

Elementary School:  Navy blue tie.

Middle School:  6^th grade- Navy blue tie

                           7^th grade- Green tie

                           8^th grade- Red tie

6. Red cardigan sweater (button down) only.
7. Black shoes with comfortable soles (see below for suggestions).

(Absolutely no gym shoes, “high heels”, clogs, mules, slick or slippery soles).

8. No make-up.  (Sheer lip- gloss may be worn.)
9. No bracelets, necklaces, or rings.
10.  Small post earrings may be worn (No Hoops).  No dangle earrings.
11.  No artificial nails or polish.
12. No chopsticks worn in the hair and other accessories deemed inappropriate for the hair.
13. Uniforms should be clean with the hemlines intact and no missing buttons.  All rips and tears should be repaired.
14. Winter boots cannot be worn during class time.
15.  Students are required to carry clear backpack only.

Boys 

1. All young men are required to wear a tie.  Selected uniform on display.

Elementary School:  Navy blue tie.

Middle School:  6^th grade- Navy blue tie

                           7^th grade- Green tie

                           8^th grade- Red tie

2. Navy blue uniform pants- absolutely no jeans.
3. White dress shirts or long sleeve button down shirt with collar- no turtlenecks, no knit fabrics, and no polo shirts.
4. Red cardigan sweater (button down) only.
5. Black shoes with comfortable soles (see below for suggestions).  Absolutely no gyms shoes, slick or slippery soles.
6. Navy blue or black socks.
7. No jewelry, no bracelets or rings.
8. Absolutely no earrings.
9. Even, neat, close-cropped haircuts.  No designer hair cuts, tails, Afros, dreadlocks, braids, facial hair, side burns or goatees.  No twisties.  No “S” curls.
10. Black belts must be worn.
11. Winter boots cannot be worn during class time.
12.   Students are required to carry clear backpacks.

·         Suggestions for shoes are:  penny loafers, Rockports, Hush Puppies or saddle shoes.  No patent leather.  Shoes are to be black.  The only exception to black is the saddle shoe.  No sling back shoes.

·         Shirts and blouses must be tucked in neatly at all times.  No undergarments with print or pictures may be visible under shirts or blouses.

·         Gym uniforms are mandatory.  Students are required to wear a uniform as follows:  gym shoes, white socks, plain white T-shirt (no writing on it) and navy blue gym shorts.

·         Gym shoes are only allowed in the gymnasium and playground.

 Any student out of uniform in any way or dressed in a manner deemed inappropriate will not be admitted to class.  The parent will be called for immediate pick up and the student will be marked absent for the day.
